This rural Fellowship initiative has covered more than 250 villages of India from 20 + states of India. They have successfully impacted on the lives of more than 1,50,000 people of rural India.
It is one of the Holistic approach in the part of growth and development for the country as only having growth is not enough but to become developed we have to pay attention towards the infrastructure and in the lives of the country.
Every year SBI initiate this fellowship program and it has started from the year 2011. The core areas where this initiative is being attention are food, health, education, environmental protection, Social entrepreneurship, alternative energy usage etc.

‘Youth for India’ Fellowship program is a remarkable program for the youth as well as for the betterment of the country.
Students from undergraduate and post graduate backgrounds are welcome to apply for this fellowship program. The last date of application has been extended to 30th May 2025 which was actually till 30th April before.
It is a 13 months fellowship program where students will be directly working with different NGOs.
They will be visiting the villages directly to collect the data and to help the villagers to develop their lifestyle by getting all the necessary facilities that are required to leave a subsistence standard of life.
SBI internship opportunity for students- eligibility criteria
To apply for this fellowship or internship opportunity interested candidate must have passed graduation in any discipline within 2025.
Prior experience or work experience is not required. Freshers can apply for this fellowship program. Is candidates have the background of Engineering or management then there will be extra preference given to them.
Age limit to apply for this fellowship program will be between 21 years to 32 years as on 2025.
Join this fellowship program candidates must have the citizenship of India or Nepal or Bhutan or should be an Overseas citizen of India. Candidate must be a domicile of India. Candidate must have to give at least 13 months for this program.
SBI internship opportunity for students- stipend
When someone does an internship or Fellowship then they receive the salary in the form of stipend. For this fellowship program the monthly stipend will be sixteen thousand per month.
Along with that every candidate will get a stipend of two thousands rupees as travel allowance and one thousand rupees for visiting The villages for survey purpose.

The selection process for this internship opportunity is divided into four parts.

- Based on the application process candidates will be given aptitude test to qualify
- On the third step there will be a personal interview for the selected candidates
- Last part will be the screening of the candidates.
After the fellowship program candidates will be able to join the sectors like NGO, CBO, managerial sectors, corporate, transport, FMCG sectors etc.
